
Faro is one of those places that somehow manages the effortless co- existence of a modern and fresh atmosphere while still maintaining it's quaint older elements in a way that when there, you feel as though you could have gone back in time.With its great balance of museums, traditional landscape and architecture with all night clubs and trendy bars that have developed out of the successful university this city really has a lot to offer. Opening hours are more laid back in Portugal and you will often find that the clubs will only begin to liven up around midnight, so it is worth taking your time and heading out a little later to get the most from of your night out.You won't be disappointed if you are coming for sun, sea and sand either, Faro not only has it's own beach, but there are regular boats that can take you to other close by coastlines with yet more and more sand.
